My very good friend Jenn and her little one stopped in today. I can't believe Jenn has a baby that's going to be a year old soon. It's amazing how not having children makes 3 years seem like a flash in the pan but going 3 weeks without seeing my nieces and nephews (by biology and by heart) feels like a long time.

No visit would be complete without a picture;

Sleep

It hasn't come very easy these past few weeks. I'm up late and awake early. Sleep is restless and filled with images of things that need to be completed, things that must not be forgotten, things that aren't perfect... yet.

I will post images this weekend of the progress in the studio. I wish I had taken before pictures.

My thoughts are scattered...

I think I will try to sleep soon. Right now sleeping looks and sounds great;

Yes Mom, I know I haven't seen you in like almost 3 weeks. I'll try to stop in this weekend.

Jackie, you are at the very top of my to do list. I miss you.

Full Sun :: Kelly Moore contest

Kelly Moore is an amazing photographer in Ruston Louisiana. She is at the very top of my list of photographers whose workshop I long to attend.

Kelly really knows how to work full sun to her advantage. In fact Kelly rocks any lighting situation. Right now she has a little contest running on her website for full sun images. This image is my absolute favorite full sun shot. I love the colour, the moody clouds in the background, even the reflection of the water on Sarah's face;

I have a serious case of spring fever. An itch I just can't seem to scratch... I need to get out, move around, experiment...

I want to find an awesome abandoned farm house, a terrific junk yard, someone to come out and play on short notice. Anyone know where I can find these items?

I convinced Devin to model for me this afternoon, but clearly he's not enjoying himself.

We were sitting here looking at this picture and a huge discussion came out of it.....
Azarie is front and center and boasts of energy are shooting through our computer screen, knowing this lil man is like that daily. Mackenzie is looking carefree and quite whimsical at the world around her as if nothing could possibly get better. Camdyn is sitting on the railroad tracks looking as if she is a bad ass staring down the camera. She looks her adorable rebellious self. You definately captured these little beings as they truly are:)

This man lights my soul on fire;

He's amazing.

He not only supports, but shares my dreams.

He has a fabulous sense of style. (JT betta watch his back.)

He's like Clark Kent when he wears his glasses.

He is amazing with children and teaches grade one.

Did I mention he lights me up?!

We're the biggest nerds.

We buy lottery tickets before road trips so we can spend the money while we drive.

We have "knock your sox off" wrestling matches. (I've never won.)

We slow dance in the living room with our dog.

Thank you for being vunerable in front of our cameras. There is not a moment that goes by during which I am not completely thankful for you and the amazing impact you have in my daily life.

I received a couple of lovely emails from brides today thanking me, but I cannot express enough just how thankful I am for them. I really can't think of a better job. I meet the most amazing people and I'm constantly making new friends. Devin is always making fun of me because after every shoot I always say I want that couple to be our new best friends. Kinda creepy, I know, but I really do love and appreciate all of my incredible clients.

Hey Mickey, So glad you received the magazine. I got my latest issue yesterday too. Aren't the images breathe taking? Pocket Wizards are radio trans-receivers that allow me to fire my flash off camera. Very portable, perfect for on location lighting.

Brian, Jenn, & Chloe :: Playing

The best way to get better is to practice, practice, practice and try new things. Last weekend Brian, Jenn, and Chloe agreed to be my practice clients for some new products I had to try and new techniques I want to learn. It turns out I need WAY more practice for a few things, but this group were such great sports about everything.

We did manage to capture a few good images though;
